Overdeveloped Patterns

I have been coming up against a pattern of being generous with money. Telling myself I can do this and finding myself constantly being asked to give up, be adjusting and accomodating. Here is. a poetic response to the frustration and anger I felt in response.

Letting yourself go so that someone else feels better

A childhood pattern difficult to reshape

The world gives you their excuses

Informing you why you cannot be given your due

Their needs are always above your own

Accustomed to these ways of the world, you always give in.

Giving in and saying “it doesn’t matter” is a way to buy PEACE

Afraid to say what is on your mind

Resentful to what is happening around

Until you are ready

A full throttled scream

From the rooftop

I want GRACE

Someone give me SOME GRACE.

FLOWing in new ways
